Sharman Networks is working hard to deliver a new version of Kazaa, with exciting new features and capabilities, as part of its mission of delivering the best P2P experience in the world. You can be a part of that process by participating in the Kazaa v2.6 Beta test!
New Search Features:
- Multiple simultaneous searching: Now, if you perform a new search your previous search will continue until it is complete. Each search you perform is displayed in a new “search tab” window. You can switch between the search result windows by clicking on the tabs at the top of the current search results window. Once you are finished with the results of a search, just click 'X' on the search tab to close it.
- Single-Click File Download: Now files that are available for download can be accessed with a single click! Just select the “Download” button for the files you wish to download.
- Improved display of file data: When you click once on a line item within a search result, that file’s data (metadata) will appear in the ‘Info’ space above your search results. This data provides you with more information about the file you have selected before you decide whether or not to Preview or Download it.
Other New and Improved Features:
- Magnet Links: Magnet links are web-based links that trigger files search and download actions across the network of p2p users. Magnet links are a format that is rapidly gaining popularity from webmasters and content owners, and Kazaa 2.6 supports this open-standard. Click here to test 'The Honey Palace' Magnet Link.
- Kapsules: Kapsules are a new file-type that allows multiple files to be distributed and purchased together across a network of p2p users. Test this feature by searching for “Kazaatest“. This should display 'The Honey Palace' test Kapsule. Look for more on Kapsules soon!
- Channels: Ringtone Channel for mobile phone users and Emerging Artist Channel for music lovers around the world!
