Two former high-ranking executives in Microsoft Corp.'s (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people) graphics technology group on Monday unveiled plans for their new video game studio and said they would release their first title this year.
Herb Marselas, who had been a developer in Microsoft's Direct3D graphics group, and Chas Boyd, who was the chief architect of of the Direct3D application programming interface, said their firm, Emogence LLC, was at work on "Grafan," a role-playing game, for the PC.
